Pet Health Concerns: Blood Platelet Abnormality

Blood platelet abnormality in pets affects the clotting factors of the blood.  As a congenital and hemostasis disorder in both cats and dogs, it causes abnormal bleeding and bruising due to improper blood coagulation. There are several blood abnormality conditions such as Chédiak-Higashi syndrome, Canine thrombopathi, Thrombasthenic thrombopathia, and Von Willebrand’s disease. Unfortunately there is no current cure available, however it is important to keep your pet safe and away from situations and environments that may cause it to get hurt.
