Pet Insurance Claim of the Week: Brachycephalic Syndrome

This week’s featured pet insurance claim is for an English Bulldog named Lola.

She experienced severe cases of bronchopneumonia and brachycephalic syndrome. Lola experienced aggressive veterinary treatment, including surgery to correct stenotic nares and an elongated soft palate, oxygen support, nebulizers, IVĀ  fluids, antibiotics, and more. Despite their best efforts, Lola continued to be unstable and experience severe respiratory distress and her owners elected for humane euthanization.

Pet insurance claim amount: $10,283.24
Deductible applied: -$500.00
Unrelated charges: -$42.67 Exam fee: -$0.00
10% co-pay: -$974.06
Trupanion repaid: $8,766.51

During difficult times such as these, it is a relief to have pet insurance to cover veterinary costs so the owners have one less thing to worry about.
