More Luxury Options for Pet Owners

Disney Pet Resort

Pet Resort opens at Walt Disney World

Not that we didn’t know this already, but we pet owners are taking much better care of our pets these days. We are giving them the best medical care, protecting them with pet insurance, investing in the best toys and entertainment, giving them ample playtime, and showering them with love and attention. And now, we can even take them to the happiest place on Earth!

The Best Friends Luxury Pet Resort at Walt Disney World opened on September 1, 2010 and is already booked months in advance. The resort is made up of 17,000 square feet of indoor space, 10,000 square feet of outdoor runs and play areas, and a 25,000-square-foot dog park.

It can accommodate as many as 300 pets for both daytime and overnight boarding. Dog owners can choose from a variety of accommodations, ranging from a standard suite, to a VIP suite with television, raised bedding and private outdoor yard. Cats can stay in the “Kitty City” pavilion – away from the dogs – in two and four-room condos.

The facility’s dog park includes a walking trail overlooking natural wetlands, lots of trails, and even a water park.

Since pets are not allowed in the park itself, this is one of the few options for sharing the fun of Disney World with your furry companions. What do you think? Would you bring your pets to this resort? Do you think your pets would enjoy themselves?
