Trupanion Wins ‘Most Pet-Friendly Company’ From NWJobs.com

We are pleased to announce that Trupanion has won the title of “Most Pet-Friendly Company” in Seattle from NWJobs.com! This is what they had to say:

Pets are so central to the animal-loving culture at Trupanion that sometimes, employees tell us, the “furry kids” who come to work with their owners seem to outnumber the humans. Dogs of all kinds, and cats as well, can be found running around the courtyard at the Ballard headquarters of this pet insurance provider, sleeping underneath and on top of desks. And just like the humans in the office, they’re all friends. “I love being able to bring my dog to work! He hangs out with other dogs and enjoys his day while I get my work done,” one staffer says. The company was started in Canada in 1999 and was later expanded to the U.S. by CEO Darryl Rawlings, who saw the success of pet insurance in Europe and thought it was a product North America should have. At the 60-person Seattle office, each employee gets full insurance coverage for one pet. The company even chose its office space for its enclosed courtyard where the dogs can run around and play. And every day a dog walker comes to take the furry friends out to stretch their legs so that the staff can focus on their jobs of making sure they’re taking care of not only their own animals, but their customers’ pets as well.

We truly love having such a pet-friendly office and feel that the energy our dogs and cats bring to the workplace makes us more efficient and even more dedicated to our mission of protecting the cherished bond between pets and their families by ensuring that pets are able to receive optimal veterinary care.

Thanks NWJobs.com!
