Pet of the Week: Sacajawea

This Sacajawea, a golden retriever puppy who was born on 11 January.  She was named after the Native American Shoshone woman who guided Lewis and Clark.  She comes from a strong hunting line and will be hunting birds with us this fall.  Sacajawea translates as “bird woman” which seemed to be an appropriate name.  But mostly we call her Saca.  She is super smart, has lots energy for working and playing, makes us laugh.  She already knows many different commands and comes running as fast as she can whenever I call her name.

We are always accepting nominations for Pet of the Week – just send an e-mail to socialmedia@trupanion.com with picture(s) and a bio about your pet!
