Trupanion Pet Insurance Featured in New Book

Author Nealey Stapleton insures her pug, Brisket, with Trupanion.

( June 20, 2011 — In a new book entitled “Life Lessons: From People Who Shouldn’t Be Giving Them”, author Nealey Stapleton offers advice based on her life experiences. One of the topics she discusses is pet insurance, and specifically endorses Trupanion, the nation’s fastest-growing pet insurance provider.

Recently, Denise Connors, Customer Service Manager at Trupanion, received an email from Stapleton notifying her about the new book and the mention of the company. “It was exciting to learn that a policyholder was so pleased with her experience to include Trupanion in her book,” said Connors.

Stapleton has been a policyholder with Trupanion for two years, insuring first her pug Tater Tot and upon Tater Tot’s unfortunate passing, her pug Brisket. She has experienced firsthand the devastation that comes with caring for a sick pet and the financial freedom that comes with having pet insurance.

Stapleton feels safe knowing Brisket is insured.

“Trupanion gave us the only peace of mind we had that week [when Tater Tot passed],” said Stapleton. “The unbelievable coverage they offer allowed us to literally do whatever was medically possible without having to worry about the potential financial burden. I am proud to say that Tater Tot had a superb life and she touched more people than she could ever know. Being able to give her the best health care and knowing that she passed comfortably and in the best hands greatly eased our sadness.”

Trupanion received several claims for Tater Tot over her lifetime for issues related to diarrhea, intervertebral disc disease, infectious inflammatory brain disease, and other conditions. In the end, Stapleton accumulated over $1,000 in veterinary bills and was repaid 90% of all covered claims.

Self-professed ‘crazy pug lover’ Stapleton is a professional organizer in the Washington, DC metro area. She was awarded the 2011 Professional Organizer of the Year award by NAPO Washington, DC, and lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland with Brisket and her husband John.
