Featured Pet Insurance Review – Trupanion saved my dogs life!

10/10 Trupanion saved my dogs life!
I couldn’t sleep one night and decided to research on Pet Insurance co. Because I already worked for a vet, I knew of a couple of companies I DEFINITELY didn’t want. I decided on Trupanion. About 3 days outside of our waiting period our Lab, Lexi, blew her right knee. Vet said she needed a TPLO and the cost was about $2,700. We contacted Trupanion and we decided to submit a pre-approval. Much to our relief it was approved and covered!! One year later, she had blown her other knee and needed surgery for it. Again, Trupanion pre-approved it. We went in on a Friday morning and before I even got home from dropping her off, my vet called to say her bloodwork came back abnormal, in fact, she seemed to be in liver failure! (Which surprised all of us as she is completely asymptomatic!) My vet consulted with a specialist and it was decided on Monday afternoon that she would need a liver biopsy and ultrasound immediatley. The following morning, Lexi and I hauled ourselves out to San Diego from Vegas and met with the specialist. After meeting with the specialist and being presented with an estimate of $4,000 I immediately called Trupanion and asked if there was anyway we could do a pre-approval in about 2 hours. My representatives were Anna and Gina, not only did they keep me up to date as it was being handled, but they truely seemed concerned about her health. So between the Specialty Hospital and Trupanion I had my pre-approval!!!
