Focus Media, Inc. and FastPencil Launch “The Great Dogphoria Book Chase” Campaign
Portions from Purchase of FastPencil’s “Dogphoria” Donated to Animal Charities
CAMPBELL, Calif. — December 6, 2011 — Focus Media, Inc. and FastPencil today launched the “Great Dogphoria Book Chase,” a 12-day online book buying campaign held December 12-23 for FastPencil PREMIERE book “Dogphoria,” created by renowned fine art photographer Jim Dratfield. Determined by the amount of books purchased, shoppers will receive reduced pricing on the books and bonus gifts, some of which include merchandise signed by Jennifer Aniston.
“With the holiday season in full swing, ‘Dogphoria’ is the perfect gift for dog lovers of all ages. It is a book like ‘Dogphoria’ that illustrates the incredible amount of joy dogs bring into our lives,” said Steve Wilson, FastPencil co-founder and CEO. “We are also pleased to say that proceeds from every book sold will be donated to two animal charities close to our hearts, so this book is the gift that keeps on giving.”
“Dogphoria” is a 132-page collection of candid photos of canines paired with insightful quotes that make us smile; as Dr. Debbye Turner Bell said in the foreword: “We smile because we see our loved ones. We smile because we see ourselves.”
FastPencil is offering different book buying packages, each with reduced pricing and various gradations of bonus gifts based on the number of books purchased. Bonus gifts include gift codes or coupons from Halo, Purely for Pets, DVDs of “Marley & Me” signed by Jennifer Aniston, VIP seats to E! Entertainment’s “Chelsea Lately” show, Barnes & Noble Nooks or gift cards, Marriott Hotel/Residence Inn gift cards, HermanMiller Eames designed products, Dyson merchandise, P.L.A.Y. Pet Lifestyle and You merchandise, subscriptions to The Bark Magazine, a collection of animal-themed books by beloved children’s book author Mercer Mayer and famed cartoonist Guy Gilchrist from FastPencil, and priceless signed prints from Jim Dratfield’s collection of fine art animal photography.
“I’m delighted, or rather euphoric, about giving the gift of prints from my collection to help raise funds for these charities,” said Dratfield.
The sole premium package includes a book publishing package for established or first-time authors from FastPencil.com. In addition, the sole purchaser of the premium book package will receive 15 educational passes for a VIP Tour of Leader Dogs for the Blind with Blindfold Walk and Lunch with Leader Dog trainers and of primary note and the opportunity to choose which U.S. animal shelter will receive Mimi Ausland and FreeKibble.com’s donation of 5,000 meals of Halo Spots Stew to the buyer’s choice of shelters, which will be announced at a later time.
Every single purchase of “Dogphoria” to the premium purchase will help Leader Dogs for the Blind and the Halo Pet Foundation, as a portion of proceeds go directly to these two animal organizations. Leader Dogs for the Blind provides guide dogs to people who are blind and visually impaired to improve their mobility, independence and quality of life. The Halo Pet Foundation helps provide meals at animal shelters and is a part of Halo, a holistic pet care company co-owned by Ellen DeGeneres.
“’Dogphoria’ is an inspiring work which we are honored to be a part of, and Mimi Ausland’s quote is something we at Halo try to remember every day: ‘There are so many ways to help and you should do whatever it is that you want to do to help. Just remember to do it,’” said David Yaskulka, Halo VP Marketing Communications.
“We hope to generate a lot of holiday joy through the gift of Dogphoria and simultaneously benefit our charity partners, Leader Dogs for the Blind and Halo Pet Foundation, for the amazing opportunities they bring to our four legged best friends, their partners, and their future parents,” said Lynn Isenberg, VP Brand Strategy, Marketing & TransMedia Development at Focus Media, Inc.
