A recent article on Yahoo! describes a cat that saved the life of its new owner just hours after being adopted!
21-pound Pudding the orange tabby cat was adopted by Amy Jung and her son Ethan on impulse from their local Humane Society in Sturgeon, Wisconsin. After only a few hours of settling into his new home, Pudding performed a heroic act of saving his owner.
Amy Jung, who had been diabetic since childhood, experienced a diabetic seizure just a few hours after going to bed. According to the article on Green Bay Press Gazette, “Pudding planted his weight on her chest and, when he could not wake her, began swatting her face and biting her nose.”
Jung awoke and called to her son but was unable to wake him. Just then, Pudding ran to Ethan’s room and pounced on his bed which woke him up so he was able to call for help.
Both Jung and her doctors believe that she would not have survived if it weren’t for Pudding. He is now being registered as a therapy pet and has learned to meow when he senses Jung’s low blood sugar.
