Diamond Naturals Dog Food Recalled

According to the Associated Press, Diamond Naturals lamb meal and rice dry dog food is being recalled due to a possible salmonella contamination. The company made a statement that no illnesses have yet been reported and no other Diamond products have been affected.

Dogs affected by salmonella poisoning will experience abdominal pain, decreased appetite, and fever. If you suspect your dog has any of these symptoms, bring him/her to the veterinarian immediately.

Dog owners who purchased the food in the following states should check their labels: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. It is possible that the food may have reached other states as well.
