Pet Insurance Claim of the Week: Hip Dysplasia

Sam the mixed-breed dog is just 11 months old and was unfortunately diagnosed with hip dysplasia last month. This condition occurs when the hip joint does not develop properly on one or both sides so that the head of the femur bone is only loosely fitted into the socket of the hip. The condition causes pain when walking or running and usually causes limping.

Sam had bilateral hip dysplasia, meaning he needed a total hip replacement surgery. He is on the mend and will be good as new after a few weeks of rest and recovery.

Exam fees: -$0.00
