Pet Insurance Claim of the Week: Lily Toxicity

Sneaky the year-old mixed-breed cat was up to some sneaky business when she got into some flowers. These were not just any flowers, but Lily of the Valley flowers. As many of us know, Lilies are very toxic to cats and can cause kidney damage when ingested.

Sneaky went to the veterinary clinic and stayed overnight receiving care and monitoring. Her veterinarian administered activated charcoal which helps to absorb toxic chemicals within the body. The outlook is very good, so long as she doesn’t get into any more poisonous plants!

Total claim amount: $2,047.36
Deductible applied: -$500.00
Exam fees: -$79.90
Other (treats: -$3.62
10% co-insurance: -$146.38
Trupanion repaid: $1,317.46
