Next in our Tru Interview series I’d like to introduce you to Chelle, who shares her life with three pets, including a German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix named Stella.
What is your background? How are you involved with pets?
I am a 29 year old, active female living with three lovely fur children. I have grown up with animals my entire life (dogs, cats, horses, fish). My dream one day is to own an animal hotel and rescue/nursing home facility for those animals who are in there last days of living, and/or their owners cannot afford their medical bills. I want to have a place where these animals will be cared for comfortably until their dying day.
Do you have pets of your own? What are their stories?
I do have fur babies! Let me tell you about Stella. Stella is a Germ Lab. (German Shepherd/Lab). She blessed me six years ago. I was looking for a cat at an adopt-a-thon, but Stella caught my eye. I adopted her from the humane society the summer of 2006. Her then name was Wolfe because she likes to howl at sirens. I watched her actions and decided she acted more like a Stella. Very smart, rambunctious, mischievous, yet loving and caring.
What is your favorite dog breed and why? Cat breed? German Shepherd. Very smart. Cat? Any
Do you tend to give your pets human names (i.e. Sophia, George) or pet names (i.e. Bandit, Shadow)?
Stella’s names are Ms. B, Bella, and Big Booty
If your dog/cat was a human, what do you think his/her profession would be?
Nurse. She is very smart and nurturing. Knows when I’m sick.
Who is your favorite TV/movie animal (i.e. Snoopy, the Geico gecko, Lady or the Tramp)?
Hachiko the movie
