Yesterday was the 13th annual Furry 5K in Seattle and Trupanion attended both as a sponsor and as a team of participants! It was such a fun event, bringing together approximately 2,500 pet lovers and 1,000 dogs, all in support of the Seattle Animal Shelter‘s “Help the Animals Fund.” The HTAF provides funds for vet care for the shelter’s animals.
Trupanion hosted a booth at the event and we had the pleasure of a corner spot right in front of the entertainment ring. We spent all day talking to pet owners and watching the contests and presentations taking place in the ring. But the most fun we had was handing out our tattoos!
For the first time, we created cute tattoos to get everyone excited at the event. And it worked! We were able to put tattoos on people and dogs and everyone had a lot of fun with it. We saw our tattoos all throughout the day, and several of our tattoo’d dogs entered the contests in the ring and we always cheered them on!
Several of us also participated in the 5K walk/run as well – Team Trupanionites! It was a gorgeous route through Seward Park, where we saw gorgeous views of Lake Washington, waved at boats and smiled at ducks with their ducklings, and stopped at the beautiful beaches for a quick cool-off.
Definitely a successful event, and I would like to give major kudos to the folks at the Seattle Animal Shelter – it was a well-oiled machine, very organized and thought-through. We had a great time and look forward to next year!
