Next in our Tru Interview series I’d like to introduce you to Christina, who shares her life with Benny and Jack.
What is your background? How are you involved with pets?
I have had pets my whole life. My first pets were a golden retriever named Comet (Yes I named him after the dog on Full House) and also a pet cat named Simba. When I moved to Washington we had to get rid of these pets but shortly after moving we got a Siberian Husky named Ice but sadly he ran away. My dad felt bad so he bought my sister and I a chocolate lab puppy. Since we were so young at the time we weren’t very responsible with taking care of the puppy so my dad made us give him away. Then for my birthday he decided to get me a bunny. And lastly, we have our American Eskimo family dog who has been with us for about nine years.
Do you have pets of your own? What are their stories?
My boyfriend and I now have a Pit Bull mix named Benny which we rescued from the Humane Society and a Pug named Jack who we rescued from a family who could no longer take care of him.
What is your favorite dog breed and why? Cat breed?
My favorite dog breed is a Pit Bull because after adopting mine from the Humane Society I realized they are genuinely the sweetest most affectionate dogs I have ever came across. People fear them and as a result there are so many Pitbulls without homes so when I have a bigger house I hope to adopt many more! I don’t have a favorite cat breed.
Do you tend to give your pets human names (i.e. Sophia, George) or pet names (i.e. Bandit, Shadow)?
I didnt name either of my dogs so I can’t really say.
If your dog/cat was a human, what do you think his/her profession would be?
If my dogs were humans they would probably be garbage men because they love to get filthy, pretty gross sometimes.
Who is your favorite TV/movie animal (i.e. Snoopy, the Geico gecko, Lady or the Tramp)?
A big thank you to Christina for sharing her story! If you are interested in participating in the Tru Interview Series, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
