I Wish – A Poem by Cassidy Freeman

I received the sweetest email the other day. One of our policyholders has a 9-year-old granddaughter named Cassidy who adores his dog, Rocky. She took it upon herself to write a poem dedicated to Rocky, and I had to share it with you all. We welcomed Rocky to the Trupanion family in October 2012.

I Wish for Rocky Richman
by Cassidy Chandler Freeman

I wish I were a dog sitting here right next to you.  I wish I were an angel taking care of you.  I wish I were a star watching over you.  I wish I could stay here right next to you.  I have to go. I wish I could stay, but no.

I wish I were your bed keeping you comfy at night.  I wish I were your bowl giving you food and water.  I wish I were your blanket keeping you warm.  I wish I could stay here right next to you.  I have to go.  I wish I could stay, but no.

I wish I were your house keeping you safe from strangers.  I wish I was a toy and you would play with me.  I wish I could stay here right next to you.  I have to go.  I wish I could stay, but no.

I wish my dreams would someday come true, but for now I wish for you.

Cassidy as a beautiful flapper during Halloween 2012.
