This week, we asked you to share your pet’s (or YOUR pet-related) New Year’s resolution! We wish everyone the best of luck in sticking to their goals and a Happy New Year!
My New Year’s resolution for my dog is to decrease his fear-related anxiety by working with his veterinary behaviorist and private trainer. I have scheduled training sessions and will try to work with him everyday.
Jasper’s New Years resolution I told him was to stop being so nosy and jumping up to see what is on the counter tops! He has managed to keep it when he’s napping however not so much when he’s awake! Jasper is a very inquisitive 3 year old Australian Hound mix that we rescued. He is a smart affectionate 60 lb dog who thinks he weighs 10 lbs. Problem is that when I tell him to stay OFF the counter tops he thinks it means just not right now. I have even caught him out of the corner of my eye looking to see if I’m watching!
My resolution is to spend more time with training and to brush my dog’s teeth every night.
My dog Turbo’s resolution is this:
“I am going to TRY to stop farting in people’s faces when they are giving my back a good scratch. It feels so good for me when they are scratching right above my tail but they don’t seem to share my joy when something stinky oozes out.”
My boyfriend, dog and I have made the new years resolution to eat less and get back into shape – my dog just doesn’t know he agreed to this! -Lindsay A.
