Spot recently made a veterinary visit due to feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD). FLUTD describes conditions that affect the bladder and urethra including urinary tract infections, bladder stones, and other issues affecting the urinary tract. It is common among adult cats, affecting up to 1% of the cat population. Symptoms include difficulty and pain while urinating, urinating outside the litter box, and increased frequency of urination.

Treatment includes addressing the specific causes of the condition and alleviating the symptoms.

At his vet visit, Spot underwent a urinalysis and fluid therapy and is currently on the mend!

Total claim amount: $1,238.86
Deductible applied: -$0.00
Excluded costs (exam fee): -$152.00
10% co-insurance: -$108.69
Trupanion repaid: $978.17

Thank you to Tim for sharing the photo (and awesome poem!) of Spot!
