Last Friday we were thrilled to celebrate “Take Your Dog to Work Day” here at Trupanion! While we bring our pets with us to the office each and every day here, the holiday got our office even more excited about how awesome it is to bring your dog to work with you!
For the first time ever, we launched a live feed on Livestream.com where viewers could watch our pets play in the office in real time. While it may no longer be Take Your Dog to Work Day, you can still check out the videos of our pets in the workplace. In one you can peek in on the day of some of our pooches: Lazlo, Sadie and Ellie, while in the other video you can see our resident Sphynx Romeo! They may come to work every day but it’s not every day that they get cameras put on them!
All day pets showed off their favorite tricks! Some played dead, others gave out high fives, and still others jumped and turned their tails off! During lunch time, we turned the camera to our doggy playplace, where puppies bounced and played with each other. While these events may not be uncommon here at the Trupanion office, we were thrilled to be taking part in the holiday alongside companies all over the country. Who doesn’t love a bit of extra excitement around the workplace?!
This year we are also proud to announce a new contest (http://trupanion.com/pets-in-the-workplace/seal-of-approval) we have launched to support the idea of pets in the workplace. The contest encourages businesses to apply to earn our new “Pet Friendly Workplace Seal of Approval” by sharing how they incorporate their furry friends into the office. Five finalists will receive our seal of approval while one grand prize winner will win $5,000!
We truly believe that bringing your pets to work is a great policy for humans and animals alike. For us, Friday may not have been that far out of the norm, but it was certainly a fun celebration of what makes us love working at Trupanion everyday. Hopefully more companies make the switch and find how great it is when “Take Your Dog to Wok Day” is every day!
