Dogs are curious by nature and will often follow their noses if a delectable smell is detected. Aldo the Weimaraner is no exception and his pet insurance claim story is proof.

This 5-month-old puppy’s recent curiosity led him to a corn cob which he gobbled right up! While they may smell tasty, corn cobs can get stuck in a dog’s belly and can require surgical removal.

In Aldo’s case, his veterinarian ran X-rays and saw a stomach full of food, so they kept him overnight to monitor and check again the following day. No large objects were found so Aldo got away without a cone!

Total claim amount: $735.75
Deductible applied: -$50.00
Ineligible costs (exam fees): -$50.00
10% co-insurance: -$63.18
Trupanion repaid: $572.18
