Pet owners often find tumors on their pets. Tumors are any sort of lump, bump, or growth and can be categorized as benign or malignant. Benign tumors are non life-threatening and can be surgically removed. Malignant tumors can be life-threatening depending on their location and development.
This week’s featured pet insurance claim is about Georgie the 2-year-old domestic shorthair cat whose recent veterinary visit was for a spinal tumor. Georgie spent two days at the emergency vet hospital where he received various diagnostic tests including radiographs, ultrasound, and a complete blood count. The sweet kitty went under anesthesia in order to have the tumor surgically removed.
Georgie is recovering from surgery and we hope that he improves. We are sending positive thoughts his way for a good prognosis!
