Like a Story from a Drama Film

Sasha - Karen Belanger - Image 1
“Just before Christmas Eve, our Great Dane, Sasha, suddenly developed a large mass on her back right leg.  We initially thought she was injured from a fall, but after a series of tests, she was diagnosed with cancer.

It was devastating, not only because we might lose our dog so soon but also due to the high financial and emotional costs related to cancer treatment.

Trupanion was very supportive during all of the expensive diagnostic procedures.  After evaluating the alternatives, we scheduled Sasha for surgery to amputate the affected leg.

Sasha finally recovered from a tachycardia, but a few days after surgery, like a story from a drama film, we had to return a few hours later to the emergency room.  Her stomach twisted.  It seems like every bad thing that could happen to a dog happened to Sasha in just weeks.

Trupanion made all the difference not only in Sasha’s life but in ours too. Getting the policy with Trupanion has been one the smartest financial decisions we ever made.

We are so thankful that Sasha got the best medical attention from Dr. Kent Morley who performed the amputation, and from C.A.R.E. Centre Animal Hospital who took care of Sasha during the difficult recovery process. This professional help would not be accessible to us without Trupanion.

Trupanion not only honoured every single aspect of our insurance policy, but they were very supportive and friendly. This company is one of the few I would absolutely and blindly recommend to anyone; if you have a pet it’s a must. You usually don’t see these things coming; having Trupanion gives you peace of mind and more years with your best friend.

And while Sasha now has only three legs, she still has a huge heart and brings her best to our lives.”
