Ready to adopt a new best friend? For the next five weeks, we will showcase adoptable pets from different regions across the United States and Canada. On each #BestFriendFriday our goal is to find homes for the pets featured and to raise awareness about some great shelters in North America. Take a look through this week’s pets and share with friends or family that may be looking for a new cuddle buddy or hiking partner. If you’re interested in adopting any of these pets or looking at other adoptable animals, please reach out to the shelter or rescue. Happy #BestFriendFriday!
All of these pets are ready to be adopted and find a forever home! If you’re interested in adopting any of this week’s pets make sure to ask the adoption team about Trupanion‘s special adoption offer.

Bio: Beauty and brains? Yup, Lacey has it all! She’s the type of gal to solve a Rubik’s cube in under 60 seconds, then saunter over for a long belly rub. She may be a bit shy at first, but with a little patience (and some extra yummy snacks), she’ll be the most devoted companion you’ve ever had. Aside from her adorable squishy face and tail that never stops wagging, Lacey is marvelously well-trained and has added a long list of skills to her resume such as sit, shake, down, sit pretty and roll over. Meet this lovable gal at San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus or learn more about her here: http://bit.ly/2bdhT9x.

Bio: Carly is a very playful and friendly 1-year-old English Pointer/Pit mix. She loves everyone she meets and is great with kids! She is an absolute sweetheart and would make a great family dog. She gets along well with other dogs once she has been introduced to them a few times and loves to play. She likes long walks and to lay out in the grass. She already knows how to sit and lie down. Her foster has been working really hard on leash training and socialization. She does have a little bit of separation anxiety, so would do best in a home where someone is around a lot of the time. She would do best as an only dog, or with a dog who is her size or larger and very submissive. If you are interested in this sweet girl, please fill out an adoption application at aaanimalrescue.org. Please feel free to email with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Bio: This charming cutie is Akamai, which means “intelligent” in Hawaiian. He’s treat-motivated and already knows a few basics like “sit,” and “shake.” Akamai loves showing off his skills, rolling over for belly rubs, and playing like a pup! Want to meet him? Bio: Cleo’s story is one of transformation! She was surrendered to the shelter with many fleas and scabbing, and was going to need a little extra TLC. Our Purr Time volunteers surrounded her, and in the time since she’s been here, Cleo’s coat has become lush and beautiful. Her shy temperament also melts with those who have come to know her best – she has been described as a “sweet little lap cat who gives kisses.” Visit The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County’s Facebook page to learn more.
Due to Cleo’s length of stay, her adoption fee has been waived. So for those with a quiet home, please consider our 7-years-young little miss. Remember, adopt a friend, save a life!
