In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day and National pet month Trupanion employees will fill the office with (literally) tons of dog and cat food, and cat litter that will then be donated to the region’s local animal shelters. This year’s pet food drive kicks off April 30 (#NationalAdoptAShelterPetDay) and will run through the first two weeks in May (#NationalPetMonth).
This is the eighth year that Trupanion employees have contributed their own time, money and resources to stock up on pet food for local shelters. Last year, team members in Seattle and North Vancouver, BC offices donated over eight tons of food and cat litter that were distributed to four local animal shelters; Seattle Humane, Everett Animal Shelter, Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County and the Dhana Metta Rescue Society in Surrey, BC.
This year we have set a goal of exceeding 10 tons of food and cat litter collected to help shelter pets and low-income pet owners in the area. At the end of the drive, the food will be loaded into trucks and distributed to Seattle Humane, The Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County, Everett Animal Shelter, Regional Animal Services of King County, Purrfect Pals and Saints Rescue in Mission, BC.
You can cheer us on over the next few weeks by following our progress over on our Facebook, or make a donation to your own local shelter.
