Week 1 (June 4-8): Paw Pet Photos

I can’t get enough of pet paws. They are just so cute! This week, we are calling for pictures of your pets’ paws!

All photo entries will be put into a random drawing and one winner will receive a $25 gift card! Winner will be announced at Friday, May 11, 2012. Honorable mentions will be posted on our blog.

Weeks 2&3 (June 10-22): Emergency Preparedness Month

The month of June is National Pet Preparedness Month. We’ve partnered with our friends at Walks N Wags Pet First Aid and they have generously offered to donate two pet first aid kits, each valued at $60 CAD, as our grand prizes. There will also be two second-place prizes of $25 gift cards.

Week 4 (June 25-29): Guess the breed

dog question mark shirtOn Monday, June 25, 2012, we’ll post a picture of a puppy and it’s your task to guess its breed! Another clue will be posted on Wednesday and the reveal will be on Friday! All correct guesses will be put into a random shuffle and one winner will receive a $25 gift card! Correct guesses made on Monday and Tuesday will count for 2 entries into the hat and guesses made on Wednesday will count for 1 entry into the hat.

    I would have to bring foor and water and her favorite toy. She would also have to have her blanket. She doesn’t leave home without that. She loves it.

    I was supposed to add my comments to the blog before submitting my “entry”….now I can’t find anyway to fix it.

    Anyway, I’d have plenty of water, blankets, and food available. Since my dogs eat raw, I’d make sure there was a kibble available for them to eat – something I’d tested on them before to be certain they would eat it and not be ill after 12 hours (one dog has chronic pancreatitis). Oh….and the biggest of all – their medications (she’s also got epilepsy).

    I would bring first aid supplies including my bloat kit and thunder shirt. Also a lead and harness would be good in case you need to tether the dog somewhere temporarily so it won’t run away.

    We already have an Ëmergency Kit prepared especially for our three dogs. Food and water are changed regularly, leashes ( metal chain ones for durability and strength) Beds, a first aid kit ( that pretty well doubles for the people part of the family as well) Blankets, toys,
