Rescuing Big Fluffy Bo

dog-insurance-story-trupanion“Bo, my 90+ pound rescue dog, had been pulled, not a moment too soon, from a high-kill shelter in Alabama by Big Fluffy Dog Rescue.  BFDR is a not for profit dog rescue that specializes in the rescue of giant working dog breeds and many “honorary” not so big or fluffy dogs.  As soon as I saw his face on the BFDR Facebook page, I knew he was the one for me!

After being treated for heart worm disease in Tennessee, Mr. Bo Bangles was headed north to his new life in Connecticut.  I fell in love with him as he bounced down the ramp of the BFDR transport truck.  Bo has become an amazing addition to our family.  He has two furry sisters and humans to love him.  He now romps in the snow and swims in the ocean.

To ensure Bo would never suffer and always get the best medical care, I immediately made sure he was covered by Trupanion.  In 2014 Bo developed a limp in his hind leg. When it didn’t improve we were off to Dr. Plunkett at Fairfield Veterinary Hospital.  Sure enough, Bo had torn his ACL and we scheduled surgery. Knowing that Bo was covered by Trupanion took away all of the financial stress and allowed me to focus 100% on his care and rehabilitation.  His surgery and rehab went very well.  As did the entire insurance process with Trupanion.  I totally recommend Trupanion to anybody who wants to be able to give their dog the very best care in an unexpected time of illness or accident.”
