Caring for Those Cocker Ears

Bailey Trupanion customer

“Bailey was gifted to me as a tiny 4-month-old puppy. He had a difficult beginning—he was sold to a lady who lived in a ‘no pets allowed’ building, so went back to the breeder where he lived in a kennel for two months. He was the puppy who had three names! First ‘Jimmy’, then ‘Magoo.’ So when he came to me and I named him Bailey, he wasn’t very trusting.

In the beginning, he wanted to be held a lot, but ever so slowly he began to trust me.

Today at 3 years old, Bailey still hides or tucks himself around my legs in some situations, but knows he is mine and he’s in his forever home. He is a lucky boy because he drew the long straw and got Dr. Kraabel for his care and Trupanion for his insurance, and we’re both so grateful for that.

We’ve had Trupanion insurance since he was that little 4-month-old and it’s an unbelievable blessing because he’s a Cocker with those Cocker ears! Through many, many appointments with ear infections, pills, rinses, food trials, tests and all the medical care that goes with it, he’s been given a clean bill of health with periodic check-ups going forward so those ears don’t get away from us!

Trupanion has more than stood behind what we were initially told about this company. I also knew if Dr. Kraabel liked it as much as he told me and recommended it as he did, it had to be a great company. Well I can vouch, it has been all of that and more. We continue to receive checks back after having paid our deductible, and what a relief to know we have this support in place.

Thank you, Trupanion!”
