Veterinary Suicide: Think it’s not your problem? You’re wrong.
Thursday, July 19, 2018 – 11:00am PST / 2:00pm EST | CE Credit: 1 hour
Veterinarians and veterinary staff are very important to us. They are our friends, colleagues, classmates, and caretakers of our beloved pets. Sadly, we are seeing disturbing trends regarding the level of veterinary burnout, compassion fatigue, ethics exhaustion, decreased career satisfaction, and suicide.
In the fifth in a series of free RACE-approved CE webinars, we have partnered with Nicole Blackmer McArthur, DVM, to help educate veterinarians, students, techs and anyone who surrounds them about the challenges and opportunities faced by those drawn to be part of the most compassionate and trusted profession in the world. They don’t teach this stuff in school (although, we feel they should), and we hope with some transparency and foresight, we can be a catalyst to help change that and end the epidemic.
Nicole McArthur, DVM, is a second-generation veterinarian who graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She is the Founder of Not One More Vet, an online veterinary support group with over 15,000 veterinarian members. She currently works at a 10-doctor practice in Northern California.
