“He has a great beard. Also, he’s got the loyalty and protective instincts of a shepherd. His wire hair coat makes outdoor adventures easy because his fur dries quickly and doesn’t hold a scent. He’s energetic and intelligent, which makes training a breeze. It’s fun to learn and teach him new things,” states Trupanion team member Zerene G.

“Like with many giant breeds, I think Leonberger’s are special because of their personality, not just their looks. Always up to cuddle on the couch or be home with the family, they are friendly, calm and usually not skittish. While of course, each dog has their own unique personality and temperament, their behavior only adds to the reason they’re one of the cutest breeds out there. Leonbergers are the ultimate companions because not only are they great snugglers and usually ready for chill TV time, but they can also double as a blanket or foot warmer,” says Trupanion team member Marissa V.
