The Benefits of Animal Companionship during the Holidays

By: Kelli Rascoe

The human-pet bond is a unique relationship during any season, but the holidays are a special time of year. Your pets are family, and the benefits of animal companionship are important when you consider the furry additions to your lives. In honor of the holidays, we celebrate the benefits of animal companionship and praise your special relationship with your best friends.

Holidays: The benefits of animal companionship

Never-ending love

The never-ending love of your furry friends is just one of the benefits of animal companionship. Naturally, there’s not a single day, time, or moment when your pets don’t love you. Whether they’re waiting for you to come home or curling up with you at night, they never fault and always love you. We could all take some tips on living our best life from our favorite animal companions.

Endless support

Everyone needs a support system. Sometimes that support system can be found in the form of an animal. Through hard times and inspiring life moments, your pets support you and you can always depend on them. Whether you need emotional support, a hug to get you through the day, or have fallen on hard times, your animal companions often are the ones that are there to pick you back up.

Always there to lend a paw

Some animals, quite literally, are there to lend a paw. Service dogs are always ready to work.

According to the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), the role of a service dog is to provide a medical benefit for an individual with a disability. Increasingly important is the level of work that the service dog is performing for the handler, as they are individually trained to perform their working duties. Whether it’s a guide dog or a medical service dog, these working dogs are saving lives every day.

The bond between the handler and service dog is life-altering and can forever change a person’s life.

Friend for life

There’s no doubt that once you bring home that new pet, you have a friend for life. There are so many benefits of animal companionship, and lifetime friendship is an invaluable component of our lives. Besides your everyday moments, you have a best friend and co-pilot for all your adventures, travels, and new experiences. You are never alone when you have an animal by your side.

Benefits of animal companionship: a bond like no other

The benefits of animal companionship are lifetime friendship, endless support, and never-ending love, just to name a few. Through thick or thin we can count on our furry friends and we truly are so grateful to have them as a part of our family this holiday season.
