TruGiving: Trupanion gives back

We have the best members in the world! Each year, the combined efforts of the Trupanion community successfully raise thousands of dollars to donate to nonprofit animal welfare organizations across North America.

Donations to animal welfare organizations

Trupanion’s pet-passionate community gives back through member contributions, the Shelter Support Program, and regular Trupanion employee charity events, including our annual pet food drive where we’ve donated over a ton of food to the Seattle Humane Society every year for the past five years.

In 2015, we outdid ourselves. Throughout the year, Trupanion members and the Shelter Support Program helped us give over $257,000 to nonprofit animal welfare organizations across North America. Last December, Trupanion employees donated over 6 tons of pet food to three local animal rescue organizations including Seattle Humane, Everett Animal Shelter, and the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen!

TruGiving's nonprofits

In 2015, Trupanion members donated over $133,000, to nonprofit organizations across the US and Canada. In March 2015, Trupanion featured ten organizations and asked the public to vote for the next nonprofits. After an outpouring of public support for each organization and over 22,000 votes over the past two months, we tallied the final count and announced the finalists of the TruGiving Member Donation Program. See the results here.

A word From the nonprofits you help

“In 2014, Trupanion’s contributions to the American Humane Association helped rescue 236 helpless dogs and cats from neglect and abuse situations. The AHA was able to provide them with medical attention, rehabilitation, and lots of TLC, giving the dogs and cats a second chance at life.”
Paul Raybould, Chief Innovation Officer, American Humane Association

“The Farley Foundation relies on donations to be able to subsidize the non-elective veterinary care of pets who belong to a variety of pet owners in need of financial assistance. The donations received from Trupanion and many other generous donors enabled the Farley Foundation to assist a record 1,000 low income pet owners who would otherwise be unable to afford veterinary care to obtain needed treatment for their beloved pets in 2014.”
- Doug Raven, Executive Director, The Farley Foundation

“Each year, the BC SPCA cares for more than 25,000 abused, injured and abandoned animals across the province. It is our commitment to provide every animal in our care with the medical treatment it needs, when it needs it and it is these cases of medical emergency that are the focus of Trupanion’s donations to the BC SPCA. The BC SPCA is reliant on public support, and we are deeply grateful to supporters like Trupanion. We thank Trupanion and all our supporters for their inspiring commitment to the BC SPCA and abused and injured animals!” - Meredith Beitl, Senior Development Officer, Corporate Relations, BCSPCA
