Expanding Our Core Coverage
I’m happy to announce that our policy has once again been improved, making it even simpler and even better for veterinarians and policyholders. The improved policy includes some new enhancements and clarifications, and is currently available in all states except Washington, California, Florida, and Maryland. It’s also available in Puerto Rico and all Canadian provinces.
A summary of the policy changes are outlined below:
Pre-existing conditions are more clearly defined.
The explanation of dental coverage has been clarified.
The Additional Care Package has been re-named the Recovery and Complementary Care Rider.
Ten of the 17 modalities listed in the Additional Care Package have been moved into Core coverage. The Recovery and Complementary Care Rider includes the following seven modalities: physical therapy (rehabilitative therapy), acupuncture, hydrotherapy, chiropractic, behavioral modification and therapy, homeopathy, and naturopathy. All other modalities are included in Core coverage.
Intact pets are no longer excluded from receiving coverage for prostate problems, hormonal skin conditions, perianal hernias, testicular tumors, perianal tumors, mammary tumors, uterine and ovarian conditions, or injuries due to fighting, collision with a motor vehicle, or aggressive behavior. However, breeding, or illnesses or injuries relating to breeding, whelping, and queening are excluded.
A new Breeding Rider has been added that covers illnesses and injuries relating to breeding, whelping, and queening.
Our brochures and other marketing materials have been updated with the improved policy information. If you are located in an approved state, province, or Puerto Rico and are interested in receiving updated brochures, please contact your Territory Partner or our Veterinary Engage Team.
We hope to have all remaining states approved in the near future, but are held to the timelines and decisions of state regulatory departments. If you are located in a state that has not yet been approved and are interested in hearing when your state becomes approved, please contact our Veterinary Engage Team to get on the notification list.
